Stockholm English Speaking Theatre

In 2015, Stockholm English Speaking Theatre invited Elisabeth Dahl to adapt and direct a sight-specific version of Macbeth at Musikvalvet Baggen in the old city of Stockholm. The production premiered on Friday the 13th of November, followed by a sell-out eight performances and headlining the Theatre festival Shakespeare 400 in Stockholm April 2016 and «Utbudsdagarna» in Västerås februar 2017.

«Something wicked this way comes, and it has found its home underground in Gamla Stan. Macbeth will be performed at Musikvalvet, a former wine cellar built long before William Shakespeare was even born. The dynamic tale of ambition, violent death and the supernatural will be portrayed by three actors in a unique version with the script cut down to the central story. Macbeth, the warrior, is told by the witches that he will be king, and from that moment, pushed on by his ambitious wife, his life is doomed. The play is directed by Elisabeth Dahl from The Norwegian Shakespeare Company».

«SEST was founded in 2010 by Samuele Caldognetto, Kristina Leon and Ingela Lundh, all of whom have trained and worked professionally in Italy, Greece and The United Kingdom respectively. We want to reach out to a wide audience of both native English speakers, Swedes and other nationalities where English is the second language".
